Grants to Warren County, Indiana nonprofit organizations, community groups, coalitions, and civic groups to address a range of local residents' needs. Applicants must submit a pre-application form or a one-page proposal, depending on the value of the request, before applying. The primary focus areas for funding are human services, arts and culture, education, recreation, citizenship, environment, and economic development.

Criteria governing grant decisions:

  • Does the grant proposal fit the overall charitable purposes of the Warren County Community Foundation, Inc.?
  • Does the project focus on the prevention of problems within the community rather than the symptoms?
  • Does it maintain both a proactive focus and an ability to respond to creative ideas?
  • Will the project make a significant improvement to the community?
  • Does the project address an important community need or priority?
  • The organization responsible for the project utilizes local resources and community support.
  • The organization has the capacity to implement and sustain the project in the future.
  • The project is reasonable, feasible, and timely.

Estimated Size of Grant:

The Foundation Board is awarding Community Grants up to $1,000. If your project is over $1,000, there will be additional requirements.

Additional Eligibility Criteria:

Nonprofit 501 (C)(3) organization, coalition, community association, and other civic groups may apply if it provides services in Warren County, Indiana.

Ineligible applicants:
- Grants are not awarded to projects outside of Warren County, unless significant to Warren County Residents.
- Grants are not awarded to support political activities.
- Grants are not awarded to projects fully funded by the government.
- Grants are not awarded for sectarian or religious purposes or to sectarian or religious organizations operated primarily for the benefit of their - own members.
- Grants are not awarded to National and State fundraising efforts
- Grants are not awarded for endowment purposes, long term programs, stipends, or regular operating expenses.
- Grants are not awarded to projects that indicate discrimination.

Pre-Application Information:

Grant requests for $1000 or less will be reviewed monthly.

Grant requests larger than $1000 will require meeting the deadlines as listed below:
- April 14th, July 13th, or October 12th

Grants will be chosen each month for the entire year, and all areas of the county will be represented.

Before starting your grant application, please review the funding source's website listed below for updates/changes/addendums/conferences/LOIs.

For proposals under $1,000 submit a one-page proposal summary at any time. The Executive Director will review the letter, and if the project meets the required guidelines and funds are likely to be available, your project will be forwarded on to the Grants Committee for review.

For proposals over $1,000 must complete the pre-application letter. The Executive Director will review the letter, and if the project meets the required guidelines and funds are likely to be available, you will be asked to complete the Warren County Grant Application form.

For all grants:
- After receiving approval to proceed from the Foundation, you will be invited to submit a grant application. Electronic copies are encouraged.
- The Grants Committee will review all applications for content and completeness. The Committee will then recommend to the WCCF Board of Directors which applications will be awarded funds. The Board of Directors will vote to approve or request further information.
- The Foundation will notify you of the Board’s decision within ten days following the Board of Directors meeting. Due to the limited availability of unrestricted funds, the Foundation may only award a portion of the grant requests. Well developed proposals are therefore invited to resubmit a request at a later date suggested by the Executive Director.
