Grants to Fayette County, Indiana nonprofits, associations, and civic groups to promote positive and sustainable change in the local community. An LOI is required prior to submitting a full application. Funding priorities include community betterment, education, and health and human services. The Foundation seeks to develop assets that will be available in perpetuity.

Examples of the focus areas include:

- Elderly services
- Children and youth services
- Family services

- Community education on relevant issues
- Educational opportunities for local charities
- Collaborative school projects/programs
- Youth programs

Additional Eligibility Criteria:

Nonprofit organizations and nonprofit 501(c)(3) organizations, coalitions, community associations, and other civic groups may apply to provide services in Fayette County, Indiana.

Faith-based organizations may apply as long as the project does not mandate participation in a religious activity as a condition for receiving services.

In the case of an organization seeking funds to help individuals in a recovery process, the community organization must be a certified site or in partnership with a certified site by the Indiana Division of Mental Health and Addiction.

Projects must have public access for all people.

Grant funds cannot be used retroactively. Nothing can be purchased for a grant project and then reimbursed if grant funds are received.

Repeat funding for the same project may be considered two years after the initial project on a case by case basis.

The Fayette County Foundation will not indulge in discrimination as to race, color, creed, age, sex, religion, or national origin in the consideration of grant requests.

Pre-Application Information:

To be eligible to receive funding from the Fayette County Foundation, a letter of intent must be submitted in accordance with announced deadlines and followed by a completed grant application by the appropriate grant deadline.

2019 Grant Cycle 1
- Letters of Intent Deadline: January 18, 2019
- Grant Applications Deadline: February 15, 2019 at noon
- Funding Announcements: April 2019
- Grant Reception (Checks Awarded): May 2019

2019 Grant Cycle 2
- Letters of Intent Deadline: May 24, 2019 at noon
- Grant Applications Deadline: June 14, 2019 at noon

2019 Grant Cycle 3
- Letters of Intent Deadline: November 22, 2019 at noon
- Grant Applications Deadline: December 13, 2019 at noon

The grant process takes about three months from letter of inquiry deadline to the earliest possible funding.

On rare occasions the Foundation may consider a grant request at a time other than the normal established grant cycles. These exceptions would need to be for an extraordinary need in the community and are solely at the discretion of the Foundation.

Once the LOI is submitted, a Program Officer will review your request and let you know if your grant request is viable. If so, a grant application will be sent to you via email. If not, the Foundation let you know that as well.

All grantseekers must have prior governing board approval for the project seeking funding. The approval of signed minutes and a signed letter from governing board must be available to the Fayette County Foundation.
