Grants ranging from $15,000 to $25,000 to multiple USA states and Puerto Rico EMS agencies, law enforcement agencies, public safety organizations, and nonprofits to improve emergency response capacity. Funding may be used for the purchase of life-saving equipment, support of military, disaster relief, scholarships and continued education, and prevention education.

The Foundation mainly focuses its resources in areas served by Firehouse Subs restaurants (within a 60-mile radius). However, the Foundation recognizes the need of rural and volunteer departments throughout the country, and will consider applications outside of the 60-mile guideline.

Firehouse Subs has locations in Ontario, Canada, and the following USA states and territories: Alabama, Arizona, Arkansas, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, North Carolina, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, Oregon, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Virginia, Washington, West Virginia, Wisconsin, and Puerto Rico.

Funding Areas:

Life-Saving Equipment:
Provide first responders with live-saving equipment. Examples: Vehicle extrication tools, automated external defibrillators (AEDs), bunker gear, thermal imaging cameras, automated chest compression systems, vehicle stabilization struts, bullet-proof vests, all-terrain vehicles, fire hoses.

Prevention Education:
Provide prevention education tools to the public about the importance of public safety in order to prevent disasters in the home and community. Examples: Fire extinguisher training systems, inflatable fire safety houses, prevention education materials, programming initiatives to focus on issues such as DUI education, carbon monoxide poisoning, CPR training and accessibility and other relevant safety issues.

Scholarships and Continued Education:
Provide financial resources or continued education to individuals pursuing a career in public safety. Example: Partner with schools on scholarship programs for individuals pursuing/advancing their career in the public safety sector.

Disaster Relief
Provide assistance and resources during and after natural and manā€made disasters such as fires, tornadoes, hurricanes, etc. Examples: Feed first responders and survivors and provide life-saving equipment to first responders to help them better prepare for any future disasters.

Support for Members of the Military
Benefit men and women of the military who have served their country in any of the branches of the United States Uniformed Services.

Estimated Size of Grant:

$15,000 - $25,000 is a guideline.

Additional Eligibility Criteria:

Law enforcement, EMS, public safety organizations, nonprofits and schools are encouraged to apply for life saving equipment.

The organization must be a registered nonprofit.

Requests such as event sponsorships, exercise equipment, and family support services are not supported by the Foundation.

-Thursday, November 29, 2018 at 5:00 PM EST for 4th Quarter Grants

All applicants will be notified of a decision regarding their application within six weeks of the close of the grant deadline.
