Grants of up to $10,000 to Indiana nonprofit organizations and individuals in Hancock and parts of Henry, Hamilton, Madison, Rush, Marion, and Shelby Counties for community benefit projects and financial assistance. Grants to individuals are made only to help individuals who are in need due to conditions of poverty and/or distress resulting from disasters (i.e. fire, tornado, flood, domestic terrorism, etc.).

For the most part, funds will be provided to meet the needs of applicants which aren’t being met through other sources. For organizations, only those activities or needs that have solid community support will be considered for funding.

Estimated Size of Grant:

The maximum amount available to any group, organization or individual that directly benefits a portion of the members (customers) of NineStar Connect is $10,000 per request.

Additional Eligibility Criteria:

Those eligible to apply for funds include any group, organization, individual or charity whose primary mission benefits a significant portion of the members (customers) of NineStar Connect.

Groups/organizations or individuals located within the perimeter boundaries of NineStar Connect’s power and communication service areas are eligible. This roughly includes Hancock and parts of Hamilton, Henry, Madison, Marion, Rush and Shelby Counties.

Funding for political contributions and payment of utility bills will not be considered.

Applications for Funding can be picked up at NineStar Connect north or south campuses or can be printed from the website. Applications may also be mailed upon request.

All applications will be reviewed by a sixteen (16) member Board of Trustees. The Board will meet no less than quarterly and may meet more frequently as the number of applications received dictates. Applicants will be notified of the Board’s decision regarding their applications within thirty days following Board action on said application.
