Description:

Request a Grant Writer

Opportunity for Indiana individual artists in a range of disciplines to participate in a professional development program. The program is intended to offer artists the tools to strengthen their business acumen, make new connections, and receive guidance about developing their artistic careers. While any artist or creative who meets the eligibility requirements may apply, early-career or emerging artists (roughly up to seven years of artistic experience) who have generated enough works to articulate their own creative voice and practice will get the most out of this experience.

For a list of eligible disciplines, see: https://www.in.gov/arts/files/2020%20On-Ramp%20guidelines.pdf#page=2

On-Ramp includes:

  • The Course: A three-day intensive business skills and entrepreneurship training course.
  • The Certificate: Proof to investors that you're ready to make things happen.
  • The Coaching: One-on-one coaching with an arts business pro.

Eligible participants will be self-motivated, committed to and ready for a creative career in or more of the eligible disciplines, and be open-minded about how their creative skills can be applied. Further, the committee will use these priorities to create a cohort that has:

  • Variety of artistic career experience
  • Statewide representation
  • Variety of creative disciplines
  • Diverse racial/ethnic representation
  • Representation of underserved populations

On-Ramp 2020 Creative Entrepreneur Course participants who receive a Certificate of Completion are eligible and encouraged to apply for the On-Ramp Fellowship 2020. The Fellowship is a pilot funding opportunity to take what you've just learned in the On-Ramp Creative Entrepreneur Course and put it to use for your career development.
