Grants of up to $2,500 to Indiana nonprofit organizations in eligible locations for activities and projects that benefit children and youth. Funding is intended to enhance the quality of life for young people through programs that promote health and education, and encourage youth leadership and service. Eligible applicants serve the Indianapolis area.

The Foundation will fund projects that:

  • Are consistent with the above-stated purpose
  • Are considered start-up or seed money; funding cannot exceed three years for the same project
  • Serve and impact Indianapolis-area children and youth.

Estimated Size of Grant:

Up to $2,500

Additional Eligibility Criteria:

- Must be a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization with an IRS qualifying letter
- Must serve the Indianapolis area

The Foundation is unable to fund:
- Programs that exclude participation based on race, religion, gender identity, or sexual orientation
- Operating expenses
- Capital campaigns
- Debt reduction
- Individuals
- Expenses that have already been incurred
- Programs with religious purposes (does not preclude religious organizations from applying for funds for non-religious service and leadership programs)
- Indirect expenses for a project
- Multi-year funding

Pre-Application Information:

Requests for community grants for 2023 funding will be accepted beginning July 1 and due by September 30, 2022.

A final decision is made by the Foundation Board in November and award amounts are communicated by the end of the calendar year. Funds are distributed by the end of the first quarter of the following calendar year.

Applicants may only apply once during a calendar year. Applicants may reapply for program funding on an annual basis, but funding for the same program may not exceed three years.
